Featured Art Style: Non-Traditional Still Life Painting

Artist Bio: Hi there, I’m Chloe! I am 25 and a fine artist painter with a passion for art in all forms that’s been with me since I was a child. I grew up on the east coast in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area and received my BFA at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a minor in Art History. My love for traveling and new adventures began when I studied abroad in Athens, Greece and was given the amazing opportunity to see other cultures' unique art and landscapes which still inspires me today. That same love for travel and adventure brought me here to the Colorado mountains in 2021. My concentration in college was oil painting and printmaking, but I love to work with a vast range of painting mediums and mixed media materials. I hope to bring these fun techniques and materials into the class for a great creative collective body of work with my students.

Class Details: A still life set up for the students with unique and fun objects, easy shapes to paint and bright colors in order to create a non-traditional still life set up. Things like unique vases, bright colored and textured fruit, funky lamps or home decor, candles etc. I will be teaching beginner still life painting techniques, unique ways to look at a still life in order to create a great piece and some perspective painting skills in order to have some objects be painted to scale. I’ll demo on a small canvas for the class showcasing some of these techniques and giving the students some ideas in order for them to create a fun and interesting still life painting.

Join our Teaching Artists every second and fourth Sundays, 1-3 PM, this summer. They will provide all the supplies and take you on a creative journey as you sip wine (or beverage of choice) and meet new friends!
